As we previously reported here on eWn, Drew McIntyre stormed out of the 2025 men’s Royal Rumble match following his elimination, reportedly upset over something that transpired during the match. McIntyre was said to have been particularly vocal about someone trying to “get their stuff in,” with LA Knight being the believed target of his frustration. Fightful Select has now provided additional details on McIntyre and Knight after the two worked together on the latest episode of WWE Smackdown.
The reported tension between McIntyre and Knight made its way into Knight’s promo, where he referred to McIntyre as a “crier” and jokingly mentioned “getting his stuff in.” While Knight’s announcement about crying was sincere, it was also a jab at McIntyre.
Despite this, Knight and McIntyre were said to have been fine working together on SmackDown. While things did get “a little rough” during their match, there were no lasting issues, and both men appeared to be on good terms afterward.
Sources backstage noted that there was no concern about the two working together, seeing the situation as an opportunity to capitalize on the frustrations and behind-the-scenes reports.
It was added that McIntyre reportedly had no problem with Knight’s promo, with one source commenting that while the leak of the news “wasn’t ideal,” both men played off the situation effectively.
