Big E believes that women aging in the wrestling business should be granted the same grace and respect as their male in-ring counterparts.
On the WWE Backlash: St Louis pre-show, Big E made his case. He said,
“So much of the narrative is, is this a passing of the torch moment? Becky talks a lot about age and the way we talk about age with women and the way we talk about age with the men.
“For a lot of women who are in their late 30s it’s, ‘Oh, are you winding down? Are you ready to get out?’ It feels like 75% of the male side is 38, 39, 40, 45. Let’s give the women the same honor and same grace as well.”
Big E’s comment comes after Becky Lynch, who’s 38, made a similar point, saying many expect her to step aside for younger women.
Lynch argued that people rarely ask the same for male wrestlers and named her husband Seth Rollins (38), and CM Punk (46) as talent no one asks to move aside.
