We have a new NXT Heritage Cup Champion as of the August 13, 2024 episode of WWE NXT. Charlie Dempsey was victorious over Tony D’Angelo with a 2-1 score, regaining the cup he had previously lost to Tony D earlier this year.
Dempsey had long been on the hunt to reattain the championship, trying to find any avenue to get a title shot. Eventually, D’Angelo decided that if Dempsey allowed Wren Sinclair to join No Quarter Catch Crew, he would give him an opportunity.
Despite being an annoyance to Dempsey lately, the thorn in his side proved to be advantageous, as Sinclair was instrumental in pushing D’Angelo off the ropes in the match. That interference was enough of a distraction to put D’Angelo back into a vulnerable position, allowing Dempsey to score the winning pinfall.

At this point, D’Angelo will be kicking himself for toying with Dempsey and setting up his eventual downfall, while Dempsey will be able to relish in becoming the second WWE Superstar to win the Heritage Cup more than once (the other being Noam Dar).
