In a recent appearance on the “No Contest Wrestling” podcast, CM Punk talked about his connection with Living Colour, the creator of the song “Cult of Personality,” which has been his wrestling entrance theme song for over a decade.

Punk mentioned that the band contacted him when WWE was looking to license the song once again.

You can check out some highlights from the interview below:

On Living Colour telling him about WWE contacting them about “Cult of Personality”: “I’m tight with the band. They’re calling me going, ‘Hey, they’re trying to license the song again. If this isn’t for you, it’s a hard no.’ I didn’t want to say anything. I kind of told them it was for me without saying. ‘Maybe you should…’ Corey (Glover) is like, ‘Is it you or not you?’ ‘Corey just…..’”

On the band re-releasing the song: “Yes. That’s because we pay the band. We’re not paying the record label. They re-recorded it and remastered it. I feel much better going, ‘Here you go.’”

In his latest YouTube video, former WWE Superstar Maven remembered the match that gave him a permanent back injury.

Maven suffered a lifelong back injury when he faced off against Goldust at WrestleMania 18.

You can check out some highlights from the video below:

On injuring his back at WrestleMania 18: “We had a spot early on in the match where on the outside, I would take a beal into the barricade. What I didn’t know is how my body was going to fold once it hit that barricade and would probably be the beginning of what would become a lifelong back injury. I sit right now with three herniated discs and I have to be led to believe it all started that fateful night in Toronto.”

On what happened when his body hit the barricade: “As soon as my body hit that barricade, I knew it had bent in a way it just wasn’t designed to bend. In no way shape or form was it Goldust’s fault. In fact, Dustin took as good a care of me that night as he possibly could have, it’s just a cost of doing business.”
