Following Dominik Mysterio’s Intercontinental Championship victory at WrestleMania 41 (Night Two), the wrestling world wondered what is next for him. During a post-show interview with Daniel Cormier for ESPN, CM Punk was asked about Dominik’s win. He said,
“It’s the ironic reaction is what that is because he’s a little snake. He’s a little piece of garbage. You know it too. (DC says he was cheering for Dominik) Of course you were because you’re like, ‘oh, I want to be funny and contrarian and I want to cheer for the guy that has no redeeming qualities whatsoever’.
But now he’s the Intercontinental Champion. Well, my hat’s off to him. I don’t know what’s going on with me next. Maybe I’ll go after Dominik Mysterio. Man, every time I see him, I still see that little 8, 10-year-old little brat. You know what I mean? I wanted to punch him in the face when he was 10. Now I get to legally.”
In other news, Paul Heyman plans to give Seth Rollins the Roman Reigns treatment after WrestleMania 41. After turning on Reigns and CM Punk on Night 1 of WrestleMania 41, Heyman aligned with Rollins, and has since stated on the Pat McAfee Show he’ll help Rollins to reach the next level. He said,
“Seth Rollins is exactly where Roman Reigns was in August 2020. Roman Reigns was a multi-time WrestleMania main eventer, multi-time WWE Heavyweight Champion, multi-time Universal Heavyweight Champion, he had been on top for eight years in WWE. The Big Dog was as big of a name in WWE as he possibly could be, and then he sat on a couch next to Paul Heyman and the Tribal Chief was born and tell me anybody who truly remembers The Big Dog today.”
“That’s exactly where Seth Rollins is today. Everything you’ve seen Seth Rollins accomplish has led him up to this point in his career, and the same transformation of The Big Dog into the global record-breaking box office attraction known as the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns is the same step up that Seth Rollins takes starting tonight.”
