At WWE WrestleMania 41 (Night Two), Damian Priest arrived with a special performance by Kerry King of Slayer as part of his entrance.
During an interview with Denise Salcedo, Priest shared how this entrance came together. He said,
“Funny enough, it was Blue Meanie that hit me up — this is probably over a month ago—that they saw him at a concert and he said, ‘Yeah, I talked to King,’ and he said he’d love to play it to the ring. I took that as an opportunity to go to Hunter and be like, ‘Hey man, so I was at Luminia,’ and he said, ‘King would love to play.’ I just wanted to put that on the table. Just insane, but then just left it at that.”
Priest’s connection to Slayer runs deep as his South of Heaven finisher gets its name from one of the iconic metal band’s tracks.
King provided guitar work for ‘Rise of the Night,’ Priest’s current entrance theme, making his WrestleMania 41 appearance even more special.
Priest lost the Sin City Street Fight to Drew McIntyre. Priest beat McIntyre last year in his Money in the Bank cash-in to become World Heavyweight Champion.
