Drew McIntyre was reportedly unhappy following the 2025 men’s Royal Rumble match, with lingering questions surrounding the reasons behind his outburst.
McIntyre was quite upset as he stormed through the Gorilla position, expressing his discontent, although the specifics were unclear.
On the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed McIntyre’s Royal Rumble outburst.
McIntyre was reportedly not bothered by his elimination from the men’s Royal Rumble match by Damian Priest; instead, he was frustrated about something that took place earlier.
Furthermore, LA Knight was executing spots that were “not planned” for the match.
These unplanned spots disrupted the flow of the match, including the timing of McIntyre’s elimination, and caused delays in getting things back on track.
Knight also got in the way of McIntyre’s elimination, but this was reportedly not what primarily upset McIntyre.
McIntyre became “loudly hot” backstage about the incident, which Meltzer claimed was “not an angle.”
Others besides McIntyre were also angry about how the match unfolded.
