During an interview with Sam Roberts prior to WWE SummerSlam 2024, Drew McIntyre commented on his ongoing feud with CM Punk and said his backstage heat with Punk goes back to McIntyre’s first run in WWE. McIntyre believes Punk saw him as a threat and prevented him from getting more opportunities. He said,

“It goes back to my first run in WWE. I’ve alluded to certain things constantly. I’ve still not told those stories, maybe I won’t, but there are feelings that go back that far. There are opportunities that were prevented directly involving Punk, and I know he saw me as a threat when I was younger, he adversely affected my momentum. I won’t go into details right now, maybe we’ll cover it on the show eventually, maybe I’ll talk about it eventually, but those feelings are very real, that’s why it feels real.”

Jelly Roll says he has some “unfinished business” in WWE.

The singer, who opened WWE SummerSlam 2024 by performing “America The Beautiful” and his track “Liar,” took out Austin Theory & Grayson Waller later in the show.

During a recent appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Jelly Roll commented on his SummerSlam 2024 experience.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On his segment with A-Town Down Under: “It felt so good. I can’t quit watching this clip. I never watch back interviews or shows, but I’ve watched this clip.”

On getting in shape for a possible return appearance: “I got to by next year. I have unfinished business in the WWE.”
