Dwight Howard may have made a name for himself in basketball, but he could have potentially had a career in wrestling if not for Ric Flair.

In 2022, Howard claimed that he was seriously considering a future in WWE, so much so that Triple H said at the time that he was just a phone call away.

While speaking to TMZ Sports, Dwight Howard was asked about his WWE aspirations and shared what Ric Flair told him. He said,

“I was talking to Ric Flair. He said he doesn’t know if my knees are good for, uh, really for wrestling. That’s a lot of… and it’s a lot of moving. Well, you know, I could, but I’d rather be with my kids, man. I’ve been playing for 20 years. It’s time for my kids, man.

“Oh, my knees feel good, it’s just wrestling… talking about picking up 300 pounds and all that stuff. Nobody wants to do that for their whole life.”

Instead of WWE, Howard is an eight-time NBA All-Star and is regarded as one of the greatest defensive players to ever grace the court.

These days, Howard competes in The Asian Tournament as a player for the Taiwan Mustangs. He previously played for the LA Lakers.
