WWE woke up today and realized the WrestleMania 41 card was still missing several matches, so not only will the Intercontinental Championship be on the line in a Fatal 4-Way and there will be a Triple Threat match for the Women’s World Championship, but we also now have confirmation that Rey Mysterio vs. El Grande Americano has been added to the card.
Tonight on WWE Monday Night Raw, Chad Gable was teaming with The Creed Brothers in six-man tag team action against LWO’s Dragon Lee, Cruz Del Toro, and Joaquin Wilde. At one point in the match, Ivy Nile handed “El Grande Americano” a metal plate that he added to his luchador mask, which he then used for some loaded headbutts to secure the victory.
Later in the show, Mysterio approached General Manager Adam Pearce to say that Gable is making a mockery of lucha libre and that he wants him in a match on The Grandest Stage of Them All, which Pearce was quick to make official.
Unfortunately, nothing has been announced as far as this being a gimmick match of any kind, such as having their masks on the line. At least right now, it appears to be just a regular singles bout.
