Last night on WWE NXT TV, CM Punk announced that he would serve as the special guest referee for the NXT Championship match between Ethan Page and Trick Williams on October 1.
Page responded to the announcement on Twitter, writing, “This man better hope he’s also the Best Ref in the World.”
Page also seemed to mock Punk on social media by sharing a photo of himself giving an autograph to Tyrese Haliburton, the point guard for the Indiana Pacers, at the airport.
Haliburton was a guest on last night’s edition of WWE NXT.
Page commented, “The fans at the airport are becoming too much. Please respect the privacy of the talent.”
His remarks seem to refer to a recent statement made by Punk about not bothering wrestlers while they are at the airport.

Kairi Sane defeated Elektra Lopez in the WWE Women’s Speed Title tournament on the latest episode of WWE Speed.
Sane advances to the next round and will face the winner of Candice LeRae vs. Piper Niven. The other semifinal match is also set, with IYO SKY vs. Naomi.

Sami Zayn joked about a social media post by WWE Games which misspelled his name as “Sami Zane.”
