Lexis King cut an in-ring promo on this week’s episode of WWE NXT where he spoke about how he’s truly his father’s son, and reiterated how much of a heel he is — to the point that he is actually making some changes to the rules of how the Heritage Cup is defended going forward.
Instead of having the British Rounds rules and the points system and all, it is now just one fall, winner-takes-all (so effectively just the same as any other championship, only people will be carrying around a giant trophy instead of having a title belt).
Can he do that?!@LexisKingWWE just changed EVERYTHING about the Heritage Cup! 😳#WWENXT pic.twitter.com/QwEWtHZoeZ

He was then interrupted by a surprise appearance from Fandango (aka JDC from TNA Wrestling). Fandango talked about how he is representing The System and he’s been booked for a title shot for the Heritage Cup next week.
Yooooooo! 🤯
NO ONE was expecting this!!! 😱#WWENXT pic.twitter.com/pGKpDXDUmP

While King wasn’t keen to the idea, it does seem like this is one of those foregone conclusions where it obviously will be made official and take place next week.
