WWE RAW Superstar Ilja Dragunov has reflected on his transition to WWE’s main roster after his lengthy tenure as part of WWE NXT.
Dragunov joined WWE as part of NXT UK before moving to WWE NXT in the U.S. He captured the top championships on both brands.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Dragunov shared how different it’s been competing on RAW compared to his start in WWE. He said,
“I think the transition was just like everything just gets bigger, you know? First of all, for me, it always feels like, yeah the job stays the same, but the environment changes. So, that’s what I mean when I say everything gets bigger — you just got all those big arenas. It is a bit, of course, bigger than compared to NXT.
“Before that, you really realize that just audience-wise, but the job stays the same. I mean, it’s a definitely a higher pressure level because this is like the top of the top of the top, and now you got to really step up your game even more.”
Dragunov added that he’s not concerned about the pressure of performing with a much larger audience as he is immensely confident in his skills.
Next week, Dragunov will face Jey Uso, Braun Strowman, and Pete Dunne. The winner will earn an Intercontinental Title match with Bron Breakker.
