Jim Ross is trying to be optimistic about WWE’s acquisition of AAA, but that is proving easier said than done for the Hall of Famer/AEW commentator.
On a recent edition of his “Grilling JR” podcast, Ross shared his honest thoughts about the acquisition announced during WrestleMania 41 week. He said,
“A little bit of a head-scratcher. I’m not sure what the value is or how much you can monetize that investment, but I’m fully supportive of it. No doubt about that… Let’s just let it grow and see how it evolves.”
The acquisition has raised several questions among fans including rumors and speculation about potential cuts to AAA’s roster and production crew.
According to Mexican outlet Publimetro, many AAA employees fear layoffs are coming, though nothing has been announced as of this time.
WWE’s acquisition of AAA is expected to be completed in 2025 Q3. A Worlds Collide crossover event between AAA and WWE NXT will take place in June.
