Kayla Becker was part of WWE for years and has opened up about what it was like as an interviewer when Vince McMahon was running things.
Speaking with Simon Miller of WhatCulture Wrestling, Becker, who worked as Kayla Braxton, recalled the tense atmosphere during McMahon’s tenure. She said,
“During the Vince era, it was like, ‘Don’t react, don’t smile, don’t take away any of the attention away from the wrestler because you’re just a glorified mic stand.”
Though she enjoyed more freedom under Triple H, Becker acknowledged why WWE wanted their interviewers not to overshadow talent. She said,
“I get it, it’s a TV show, you only have a lot of time, it’s live television, they can’t have us going all Mean Gene and taking over the entire segment. I understand why they do things that way.”
Becker officially left WWE in 2024 with her final appearance for the company coming at a WWE event inside Madison Square Garden in New York City.
