Samantha Irvin shocked the wrestling world by announcing her departure from WWE ahead of the October 16th episode of Monday Night RAW.
Irvin is not expected to join AEW, as she had planned to leave WWE to focus on other projects. Her social media rant has sparked outrage in WWE.
During a recent appearance on the “Triggered Wrestling” podcast, Kayla Becker (Kayla Braxton) affirmed that being a ring announcer isn’t the easy job that some may perceive it to be, and declared that she had no desire to take Irvin’s place.
Braxton said, “Do you know how much I hate ring announcing? Absolutely not. You know how that job is? Ring announcing is the most underrated job ever in the history of wrestling. It’s so difficult. It’s very stressful, and it makes your voice hoarse. So, no. I am not interested.”
On June 22, Braxton announced that she would be departing from WWE following the June 28th episode of SmackDown. On July 1, Braxton’s profile on WWE’s website was transferred to the alumni section.
