In a recent interview with WFAN, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle announced that a biopic centered on his 1996 Olympic gold medal victory is in the works.

Angle said, I got a movie going on. Really proud of this. It’s a really great story. It’s about a kid from the streets of Pittsburgh who overcomes all these obstacles, including a broken neck, to win the Olympic gold medal. It’s only about my Olympic career, it’s not about my pro wrestling career. The directors are Ian and Eshom Nelms. They want this movie to be like a ‘Rocky’ type feel with a little bit of ‘The Fighter’ and ‘Iron Claw’ mixed in. I’m really excited about it. I’m going to be working behind the scenes for the first time. I won’t be in front of the camera. I’m really excited for the world to see it. We want to release it in theaters. It’s going to be a lot of fun for me. It’s probably the most excited I’ve been since the Olympics. Right now, we just got the script done. We’re shopping for investors, which shouldn’t be a problem. Af that, we pick the cast. This is going to happen probably in the next three months. We have a few (casting candidates), I can’t say any names, but we have a few good names we’re thinking about.”

In a recent appearance on the “No Contest Wrestling” podcast, CM Punk discussed the considerable amount of money he spent on ice cream bars for his AEW debut in 2021.

Upon his return to professional wrestling in Chicago, Punk assured the audience that they would all receive ice cream bars to commemorate the occasion.

He said,What helped all of that is, anytime they’re in Chicago (there are rumors). That is precisely why I spent $40,000 on ice cream bars when I came back in 2021. That was a legit thank you. Thank you for seven years of chanting my name. I do have a little bit of sympathy and empathy for the people in the ring when that was going on, and I do think a lot of the sourness and hard feelings some people have for me is because of that. They’re busting their a** and [the crowd] is chanting for me. That’s one of those where, I wouldn’t be anywhere, and I wouldn’t be back here, if it wasn’t for great many circumstances. One of them is the fans, especially in Chicago, but worldwide.”

And finally, during a virtual signing for K&S Wrestlefest, Candice Michelle shared her thoughts on the “Mr. McMahon” docuseries and the controversy surrounding Vince McMahon, who is currently under federal investigation for accusations of sex trafficking, rape, and more.

Michelle said,I think first of all, I loved the documentary. One of the things that I want to say that I liked so much, and it just rang so true to me, I have never been known as the best wrestler or the wrestler either the coolest moves. I think for me what got me over was being able to take the heat and really kind of putting my partner over. One of the things that Vince says in this docuseries is being able to take the heat and not only take the heat, but love taking the heat, and in that, obviously there’s a lot of controversy around him right now, and I just pray for all sides of these parties because can see in this documentary that he suffered a lot of trauma, and you can see that these women suffered a lot of trauma, and I think the goal is, how can we heal from the trauma versus blame each other for the trauma. Hope that helps. I think it comes down to what makes people heal. Can this woman heal from a financial gain? Can Vince heal and be not attached to this lawsuit from financial settlement? So that’s between these two parties to really figure out, and hopefully they can move on from this and can live the rest of their lives.”
