Kurt Angle was left feeling miserable in 2005 thanks to Vince McMahon’s idea for a storyline in which he stalked Booker T’s wife, Sharmell.
In a recent interview with “Inside the Ropes,” Angle made it clear how much the story affected him when asked for his worst storyline. He said,
“Worst storyline I hated… it was when Booker T and Sharmell — when I was stalking Sharmell. Vince had this thing… I dated a Black girl once in my life.
“He heard that I dated a Black girl, so he was like, ‘Oh, I’m going to get him to stalk Sharmell on TV. And you know what? I’m going to give him a son when he comes back.’ This guy made me miserable. I mean, it was just unbelievable.”
The storyline saw Angle demand ‘bestiality sex’ from Sharmell and remains one of the most infamous chapters of the Olympic Gold Medalist’s career.
The storyline would be dropped upon Angle’s move to RAW in 2005 while Booker T and Sharmell would move on to the United States title picture.
