Michin will not waste her opportunity in the Women’s U.S. Title Tournament after winning her first-round match during this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
On the show, Michin defeated Piper Niven and NXT’s Lash Legend, who is replacing the potentially injured Jade Cargill in the tournament.
Speaking in a WWE “Digital Exclusive,” Michin addressed the opportunity to become the first Women’s U.S. Champion. She said,
“I fumbled my opportunities to become the first-ever Women’s NXT North American Champion. This time, I will not fumble becoming the first-ever Women’s US Champion. This is not a want, but a need. I will be the first.”
Michin competed to become the first-ever NXT Women’s North American Champion at NXT Battleground in June but came up short.
Michin will now move to the next round, where she’ll face either Elektra Lopez, Tiffany Stratton, or Naomi. The three will face off next week.
The first-ever Women’s U.S. Champion will be crowned at Saturday Night’s Main Event. A Women’s Intercontinental Title has also been announced.
