John Cena shocked the world by turning heel on Cody Rhodes and aligning himself with The Rock at WWE Elimination Chamber: Toronto.
Throughout his career, Cena faced mixed reactions, yet he upheld his principles of “Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect,” along with his “Never Give Up” mindset, cementing his status as the top babyface in WWE for nearly two decades.
Although Cena has stepped away from the babyface role, his merchandise sales continue to thrive, as stated by WWE President Nick Khan.
During a recent appearance on “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” Khan said, “Here’s what I thought was interesting about that whole process, number one, John Cena’s merchandise still off the charts. Top of the show at every event or almost every event. The collective decision to make the heel turn; Triple H, Cena, Dwayne Johnson, Cody, everyone immediately on board with the whole thing.”
Cena will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WWE WrestleMania 41 (Night Two) this Sunday in Las Vegas, NV.
