During the main event of last night’s episode of WWE NXT, Je’Von Evans botched what was supposed to be an RKO out of nowhere spot, jumping off the turnbuckle for a corkscrew, but failing to align correctly with Randy Orton’s arms.
Orton simply picked Evans up, executed the RKO, and went for the pin. But unlike previous years, that have seen moments where Orton has lashed out at the likes of Kofi Kingston (calling him “stupid” repeatedly in an angry fit) or had problems with folks like Mr. Kennedy, Orton’s status as a legend in the locker room and his maturity over the years clearly shows a difference, given his response after the match.
Evans apologized to Orton, who calmed him down, saying “It’s okay. You’re the man.”
Je'Von Evans: "I'm so sorry."
Randy Orton: "It's okay, you're the man."
Randy Orton knows these mistakes can really bring down confidence.
The way Randy Orton comforted Je'Von Evans after the botched RKO shows how professional Randy actually is. ❤️#WWENXT pic.twitter.com/uiAJ3aio5A

According to a report from Fightful Select, there is no heat on Evans for this botch whatsoever. Though they had both put in some time prior to the match trying to rehearse the spot, it is understood that this is one of those situations where things happen. Since the match was overall well-received, it seems this will blow over soon enough.
