Next week’s episode of NXT will be the go-home show ahead of WWE NXT: Vengeance Day and is set to feature some noteworthy matches.
In their quest to prove to Axiom and Nathan Frazer that they deserve to be the No. 1 contenders for the NXT Tag Team Championships, Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura both went to talk to other tag teams to have a match next week. This has resulted in a Triple Threat with them against both the No Quarter Catch Crew as well as Hank Walker and Tank Ledger.
Since Cora Jade went on the attack during the NXT Women’s Championship Summit promo segment and nailed Bayley (and Giulia) several times with a kendo stick, Bayley stormed into Ava’s office to demand a match with her in any fashion, even offering Ava could put her in the title match. Ava went in a simple enough direction by just setting up Bayley versus Cora Jade for next week’s NXT instead.

Someone else looking for a title opportunity in a surprise is Fandango, who made his WWE return this week as part of the crossover between NXT and TNA Wrestling (where he wrestles under the name JDC). Next week, he will face Lexis King for the Heritage Cup, which will be a one-fall setup going forward now that King has disbanded the British Rounds Rules concept.
Yooooooo! 🤯
NO ONE was expecting this!!! 😱#WWENXT pic.twitter.com/pGKpDXDUmP

After Ridge Holland defeated Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, he put out a challenge for a rematch against Tony D’Angelo for the NXT North American Championship. Holland said that he knows if he had a true one-on-one match where someone like Izzi Dame couldn’t interfere like the last time, he knows he would beat D’Angelo. Dame suggested they have a steel cage match, which is now official for next week as well.
Steel Cage Match?!
Looks like @RidgeWWE and @TonyDangeloWWE will fight for the North American Championship inside of a STEEL CAGE! 👊#WWENXT pic.twitter.com/zFKF8mth4X
