North American Title Match, 6-Man Tag & More Announced For Next Week’s Episode Of WWE NXT

Several matches and segments have been announced for next week’s episode of WWE NXT (July 16, 2024).

On this week’s episode of WWE NXT, Brooks Jensen spoke to Ava about his recent actions, lashing out and causing problems both on social media and in the Capitol Wrestling Center. Someone (we’d later find out Josh Briggs) vouched for him, though, and Ava and Shawn Michaels were willing to give him a second chance.

Soon after, Jensen attacked Je’Von Evans, forcing Evans out of the tag team main event that was scheduled. That set up a match for next week, depending on whether Evans is medically cleared to compete, with Ava booking Evans against Jensen.

During the same segment, Briggs asked Ava for a match against Shawn Spears to get some revenge on him for their past issues. That is also tentatively scheduled for next week.

Ridge Holland pulled some strings for Chase University to grant Thea Hail a match with Izzi Dame (which Hail won by submission) and Duke Hudson a title shot against Oba Femi for the NXT North American Championship next week. Femi came out to talk some trash to Hudson, who went from being skeptical about the match to fired up and ready to take the fight to Femi.

Lastly, as Wes Lee was tempted to quit wrestling, he was interrupted by his former teammates Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel of TNA Wrestling to reform The Rascalz. That trio crossed paths with Gallus to reignite the feud between Lee and Joe Coffey, setting up a six-man tag team match between the two teams next week.

To recap, here is the current rundown of advertised segments for next week’s NXT:

  • Oba Femi vs. Duke Hudson for the NXT North American Championship
  • Six-Man Tag Team Match: Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) vs. The Rascalz (Wes Lee, Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz)
  • Josh Briggs vs. Shawn Spears
  • Brooks Jensen vs. Je’Von Evans
