While Oba Femi isn’t looking to be called up to the main roster right now, he does have a few dream matches in mind.
During an appearance on a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, the reigning WWE NXT World Champion named GUNTHER, John Cena, and Randy Orton as dream opponents. He said,
“As far as dream matches go — I’ve said this on record before — I’d love to wrestle GUNTHER, you know Cena, Randy, those guys. But the fact that I carry this only my shoulder right now, that means I have an obligation to NXT. I’m carrying the brand right now and the person who carries the brand should carry the brand. As lovely as it would be to go up there and do all that, NXT is on my mind now.”
He continued, “I want to elevate NXT to that level where it’s a third brand and not just developmental… I strongly believe the caliber of talent here in NXT is enough to compete with the main roster itself, with me at the forefront, it makes it more perfect.”
During a recent appearance on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Tommy Dreamer shared his belief that young talent should take notes from the recent Tribal Combat Match between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. He said,
“Roman Reigns is a storyteller and has been for so, so long and that’s why he’s on top. If you want to become on top in this business, you should watch that match because to be honest, did they do a whole heck of a lot? They did. But not to the pace other wrestlers have done, and if you want to tell great stories, look at the placement and look how they did things … Great wrestlers, great storyline, it all works, but if you really do study moments, that match gave you so many moments and took you on a ride.”
