It appears WWE has quietly put an end to Damage CTRL — for now. According to a report from Fightful Select, the once-dominant women’s stable has been officially disbanded behind the scenes in recent months.
Sources say the decision was made internally back in early May, around the time Dakota Kai was released from WWE. Following that, announcers were instructed to stop referring to any of the remaining members as part of Damage CTRL.
With Bayley having exited the faction last year, Kai now gone, Asuka still sidelined with an injury, and Kairi Sane also out of action, only IYO SKY remained as an active competitor. By the time Kairi returned to WWE programming later that month, the group had already been dissolved.
When asked if the stable might continue once Asuka returns, it was noted that based on current creative plans, a full revival of Damage CTRL is not expected. However, there remains the possibility that some of the former members could still team up again in the future once everyone is cleared to compete. The Damage CTRL name could also potentially be brought back down the line.
Meanwhile, original leader Bayley made her return to WWE TV earlier this month and has kicked off a new rivalry with WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch.
