Former WWE Superstar Elias — now competing in TNA Wrestling as Elijah — reportedly sustained an injury during his match on this week’s episode of WWE NXT on The CW Network.
According to a report from Bryan Alvarez, Elijah appeared to injure his left arm while performing his signature “Walk With Elijah” top-rope maneuver, which mirrors The Undertaker’s classic “Old School” rope walk.
The incident occurred during Tuesday night’s episode of NXT in Orlando, Florida, where Elijah teamed with Yoshiki Inamura and Josh Briggs to face Trick Williams, AJ Francis, and Wes Lee. After the rope-walk spot, Elijah noticeably avoided using his left arm for the remainder of the bout. Alvarez said,
“Elijah injured his left arm on NXT — somehow it appears nobody even noticed. Hopefully it’s not too serious, but it looked like either an elbow injury or a torn triceps. He attempted the Undertaker-style rope walk and landed awkwardly on his elbow. He seemed to injure it badly and didn’t use that arm for the rest of the match.”
It’s currently unclear whether the injury will sideline Elijah from participating in this weekend’s TNA iMPACT! television tapings in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
