Colby Lopez has made Seth Rollins a household name around the world and has shared who came up with the name of his WWE character.
On a recent edition of the Chicago Bears podcast, Rollins shared which late WWE Hall of Famer gave him the name he uses to this day. He said,
“I made a list. I made like two lists, first names and last names, when I first got hired by WWE, right? They want to own your brand. They want to be partners in owning your brand.
“The late, great American Dream, Dusty Rhodes, was the one who gave me my name. ‘Seth Rollins, baby.’ He had a list. If you don’t know Dusty, he had a list. He’s a southern boy with a list. ‘And I see it on the marquee now. I see it. It’s Seth Rollins, baby. Main event of WrestleMania. I love it. I love it, baby.’”
Rollins would become WWE’s first NXT World Champion in 2012 before debuting on the main roster as part of The Shield that same year.
Today, Rollins is one of WWE’s top stars and recently headlined WrestleMania for the third time with a win over Roman Reigns and CM Punk.
