Sheamus recently confirmed that WWE quickly scrapped the tag team name “The Banger Bros,” which he used alongside Drew McIntyre in 2023.
Appearing on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Sheamus looked back on the short-lived team and its memorable — though controversial — name. The duo briefly formed in early 2023 ahead of their widely praised Triple Threat match with GUNTHER at WrestleMania 39. Sheamus said,
“Remember the Banger Brothers? Me and Drew McIntyre. That got shut down real fast, by the way.”
WWE reportedly dropped the name after realizing its resemblance to a well-known adult entertainment brand. Despite their popularity with fans, Sheamus and McIntyre haven’t teamed up since March 2023.
