On a recent edition of the “Wrestling Time Machine” podcast, Teddy Long shared his criticism of the WrestleMania 41 (Night Two) main event. He said,
“Well, I don’t really know what to say about that, you know what I mean, to involve Travis Scott in it. I like that, don’t get me wrong. But I mean, something as serious as the World Title there, I don’t think I would have used Travis Scott.
“I think I would have, maybe, come up with another finish there or something where, maybe, Cody, you know, slipped, as we said back in the day, ‘slipped on the banana peel.’ Boom… Cena takes advantage of it… one-two-three!”
Many have criticized the main event for Scott’s involvement, as many expected The Rock to be involved with the contest instead.
Cena’s victory makes him a 17-time World Champion, breaking the record that he had tied with Ric Flair since January 2017.
John Cena’s first title defense will come next month when he defends against Randy Orton at the WWE Backlash pay-per-view event in St. Louis.
