The Rock made a guest appearance on the premiere episode of WWE RAW on Netflix this week, appearing as a babyface rather than his Final Boss persona that fans have been accustomed to for nearly a year.

The Rock praised WWE and even hugged Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes during the segment.

As you may know, WWE originally planned to set up a match between The Rock and Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 this year, following the events post-WrestleMania 40.

After The Rock’s appearance on RAW, many speculated that this match might not happen. The Rock reportedly has no plans to compete at WrestleMania 41 this year.

Nevertheless, the final decision rests with The Rock, and he could opt to wrestle if he believes he can get in ring shape before WrestleMania 41.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that “Rock vs. Rhodes, the originally planned main event for this year’s Mania, is not happening.”

The idea of Rock vs. Reigns is not off the table and could still happen in the future.

As we previously reported here on eWn, WWE is planning a match between Rhodes and John Cena for WrestleMania 41.
