In some ways, it was a fairly loaded episode of WWE SmackDown on March 14, 2025 in Barcelona, Spain, with a few surprises like Axiom in action against Gunther, a possible Aleister Black teaser, and a vignette for Rey Fenix, but the grand finale of the night featured a title change on top of all that as The Street Profits defeated #DIY to win the WWE Tag Team Championship.
Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford have long been clamoring to get back on top of the tag SmackDown team division, as it had been since October 12, 2020 when they last held championship gold as the Raw tag team champions.
Several months ago, they were the next in line to challenge The Motor City Machine Guns, only to be attacked backstage and replaced by #DIY, who went on to win the titles. It was later revealed that Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa were the ones who attacked them in the first place, and the division has been in a frenzy ever since, with those three teams (as well as Pretty Deadly and Los Garza) all vying for the titles, including a situation where The Street Profits interfered at WWE Royal Rumble 2025 in the #DIY vs. Motor City Machine Guns match, upset at being passed over.
In an attempt to settle all the chaos, SmackDown General Nick Aldis booked The Street Profits in a tag title match for this week’s SmackDown, and Dawkins and Ford made good on their momentum, managing to snatch the titles back in the main event after a mistake from the champions where Gargano accidentally superkicked Ciampa, leaving himself vulnerable to a Frog Splash from Ford for the win.

We already know Pretty Deadly are the next in line to challenge for the titles after winning a No. 1 contenders’ Triple Threat match last week, but WWE has yet to announce when that match will take place.
