The Undertaker’s Heart Sunk When Cody Rhodes Said He Wouldn’t Face Roman Reigns

The Undertaker was far from pleased when he saw Cody Rhodes say he wouldn’t challenge Roman Reigns on last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.

Rhodes’ announcement on the show led to The Rock’s return and a tease that the Brahma Bull would be challenging for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in April.

On a recent edition of his “Six Feet Under” podcast, The Undertaker recalled his reaction to what Rhodes had to say last week. He said,

“I wanted to hear Cody’s promo. It was great. It was so good, and I was so invested. When he said, ‘… just not at WrestleMania,’ my freaking heart sunk into my stomach because I knew at that moment what was about to happen.

For Cody to go out and to deliver the promo that he delivered last night, I felt for him. He did it like a champ. He did it so professionally.”

The Undertaker wasn’t the only person unhappy with Cody’s announcement. The immense backlash from fans has led to WWE changing course.

This week, Rhodes declared that he will face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 despite the Tribal Chief declaring his intention to face his cousin in Philadelphia, PA.
