During a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Triple H confirmed that NXT Europe is still in development, despite previous delays stemming from the WWE-UFC merger and the pandemic.

The initiative was announced in August 2022, following the end of NXT UK, which had been successful before the COVID-19 pandemic affected plans.

Triple H said, “It is. I’m still a big believe that the UK was going to work. The product was there, the interest level as there – the pandemic squashed it. For years we couldn’t move people, we couldn’t bring people in and it just shut it down. I still believe it’s there. I still believe in the expansion of what we’re doing. It’s about the opportunity for people. The opportunity in this industry, what we do, is few and far between outside of WWE where you’re kind of just trying to do it on your own.”

During a recent appearance on the “High Performance” podcast, Triple H revealed the origin of The Rock’s People’s Elbow finisher.

The iconic move originated as a joke in sports entertainment, but it drew a strong reaction during live events, thereby becoming the most electrifying finisher in all of sports entertainment.

Triple H said, “The Rock does the People’s Elbow. It’s the silliest move of all time. He runs twice, hits the ropes, drops the worst looking elbow on you. It’s not a knock on it. It started as a joke. It started as a place for us on live events and him trying to make The Undertaker laugh and break character. We were all doing dumb stuff, and he did it one night, and it looked really cool, as silly (as it was). Somebody dared him to do it on TV and he did it on TV as a spoof, and the crowd reacted to it. He did it again and they reacted even more. All of a sudden you realize, ‘Wow, I’m onto something really wild here.”
