During a recent appearance on the “Bobby Bones Show,” Shawn Michaels expressed uncertainty about how today’s fans would receive his selling style, noting that he was a visual seller like Mr. Perfect and Dolph Ziggler. He said,
“The business has changed so much. I think it’s interesting you used the word overselling. Back in the 90s, somebody like Mr. Perfect, who I used his style from a selling standpoint, this day and age he would be considered an overseller, but it was very visual and very appealing. The same way I sold in the 90s. Dolph Ziggler, Billy Gunn, they were very visual sellers. I don’t know how that would be received this day and age. A lot has changed over the years. With MMA being around, our business had to evolve and replicate what I think people perceived as as legitimately painful or not. As this continues to grow, evolve, and change, our business is going to continue to do that. Old timers like me often talk about, ‘These kids don’t sell anything like we did,’ but at the same time, I remember people saying that to me. That is generational. I think you have to change with the times. Football, basketball, baseball, they all need to be faster than they once were to keep an audience entertained and locked in. Our business is no different.”
Matt Cardona questioned on Twitter why his wife, WWE Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green, is not featured on the WrestleMania 41 card.
Green is set to be part of a tag team match on this week’s WrestleMania go-home edition of WWE SmackDown.
Cardona wrote, “I know not everybody can be on #WrestleMania and I’m biased because she’s my hot wife, but how is @ImChelseaGreen not on a 2 night Mania?!”

Travis Scott’s slap to Cody Rhodes at WWE Elimination Chamber: Toronto went viral on social media, and WWE executives Triple H and Nick Khan commented on it at The Ankler’s Business of Entertainment program at the NAB Show in Las Vegas.
Triple H stated that Cena’s heel turn did “a couple hundred million” social media impressions, to which Khan replied, “It was insane. Paul [Levesque] did tell Travis after, ‘Hey, that was a pretty hard slap. We’ll show you how to pull your punches a little bit,’ Travis said, ‘Dwayne Johnson told me you better slap the s*it out of him or people are going to think you don’t have it.’ Paul chuckled and I chuckled. It was a pretty big moment for us.”
Triple H added, “It was incredible. Ironically, the only person that didn’t complain about the slap was Cody Rhodes. He just wanted it to look good. Travis was like a kid in a candy store on that thing. He’ll be at WrestleMania, a lot of people will be at WrestleMania.”
