Two Title Matches & More Announced For Next Week’s Episode Of WWE NXT

Next week, NXT returns to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, and will feature two championship matches as well as a confrontation between Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo.

Lexis King came out on this week’s episode to challenge Ricky Saints to an NXT North American Championship match. He was even willing to put the NXT Heritage Cup on the line in a title-for-title setup in order to convince Saints, who accepted the challenge, but isn’t going to get an opportunity to win the trophy. That is because King then lost the Heritage Cup to a returning Noam Dar.

King pounced on Saints backstage, jumping him from behind after a distraction from Ethan Page, as he now also blames Saints for how he lost the cup.

Hank Walker and Tank Ledger will have their first title defense as they put the NXT Tag Team Championship on the line against Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura.

This came about after Inamura was talking to NXT General Manager Ava backstage and lamented that his time with the brand is almost over, and he feels bad that he and Briggs almost won those titles, but didn’t. Ava took pity and granted them another shot, only for Inamura to reveal that he was just faking it for sympathy and tricked Ava.

No other matches were announced, but we do know that Tony D’Angelo is going to have some sort of “confrontation” with Stacks. Tonight’s episode saw The Don tell Adriana Rizzo to go into hiding for a while, and Stacks seemingly taking Luca Crusifino out to pasture.

To recap, here’s your advertised lineup so far for next week’s NXT:

  • NXT North American Championship Match: Ricky Saints (c) vs Lexis King
  • Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo confrontation
  • NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Hank Walker & Tank Ledger (c) vs. Josh Briggs & Yoshiki Inamura
