The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE Backlash: France, which took place last Saturday in Lyon, had a traditional pay-per-view buyrate of approximately 3,900.
It is worth noting that WWE now receives the bulk of its viewership from Peacock and the WWE Network, particularly internationally. Traditional pay-per-view buys are becoming less common and mostly reserved for rural markets or customers without internet access.
Moreover, WWE Backlash: France was held mid-day, typically resulting in lower viewership than shows aired during prime time. Compared to the last show aired at this time of day, Elimination Chamber 2024, Backlash’s PPV buyrate was down by 33.8%.
Additionally, 12.3% of those who bought Backlash: France also bought AEW Dynasty 2024, while 1.6% purchased TNA Rebellion 2024.
