Vince McMahon is resisting a shareholder lawsuit that seeks additional documents related to the WWE-UFC merger that created TKO Group Holdings.
In a court filing unsealed on Thursday, McMahon’s legal team asked the Delaware Court of Chancery to deny a motion to compel further discovery. Shareholders claim that McMahon manipulated the merger to benefit Endeavor, then the parent company of the UFC, in order to shield his personal interests amid sexual misconduct allegations.
McMahon argues that he has already agreed to produce communications referencing both the misconduct claims and the merger. These include messages with key WWE and TKO figures such as Nick Khan, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, and former board members, as well as relevant NDAs and board materials.
However, he is refusing to hand over what he describes as “deeply personal and intimate” messages with women and family members, calling them irrelevant to the merger and accusing plaintiffs of overreach and harassment.
Plaintiffs counter that communications with ousted former board members could be essential to understanding McMahon’s true motivations, particularly whether misconduct allegations influenced his push for the Endeavor deal.
McMahon contends that allowing such discovery would turn the case into a “mini-trial” on claims already dismissed in prior litigation. The court has not yet ruled on the motion.
