Is WWE making serious mistakes with the handling of former World Champion Drew McIntyre? Former writer Vince Russo believes so.
At the 2025 Royal Rumble pay-per-view event, McIntyre failed to win the men’s Royal Rumble match after being eliminated by Damian Priest.
During his post-show review, Russo shared his issue with WWE’s handling of McIntyre after another setback for the Scottish star. He said,
“If Drew McIntyre was not a great performer, he would have been future endeavored already. The only thing that keeps him relevant is his performance. They’ve done nothing for this guy creatively. Zero, bro, nothing.
“Drew is bulletproof. That’s what they label him… If you keep labeling him bulletproof and we don’t have to do anything with him, bro, after a while, man, everybody’s going to turn their back on him.”
McIntyre’s elimination from the men’s Rumble match did not go as planned, reportedly leaving the Scottish star and others furious about the situation.
The men’s Royal Rumble match was won by Jey Uso, who last eliminated John Cena to claim his first victory in the iconic 30-Superstar contest.
