Vince Russo pitched for impersonator Jason Sensation to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame when the comedian was facing some serious health issues.
On a recent edition of his “Legion of RAW” podcast, Russo recalled speaking with Triple H at the time about the idea. He said,
“My good friend, Jason Sensation, was in a bad health situation. So, I emailed Triple H. The last time I spoke to him was 1999. I emailed Triple H, and I said, ‘Bro, it’d be a nice gesture to put Jason Sensation in the Hall of Fame. It would make the dude’s life. The dude still loves WWE.’
“Triple H answered me back which I thought was pretty nice of him. I’m not particularly kind to the WWE. But he answered me back, and we had a nice exchange.”
Sensation performed several impressions during WWE’s Attitude Era and is best remembered for his imitation of Owen Hart.
Jason was part of the segment in which DX parodied the Nation of Domination which was removed from Peacock due to the use of blackface.
Sensation was not inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1999, and the concept was revived in 2004 ahead of WrestleMania 20.
