WWE legend Sid Eudy has passed away at the age of 63, according to a Facebook post from Gunnar Eudy:
No other reports or confirmation about his passing, nor other details or further information have been released at the time of this publication.
Sidney Raymond Eudy, better known by his ring names of Sid Justice, Sid Vicious and Sycho Sid, started his pro wrestling career after being brought in by Randy Savage and Lanny Poffo, beginning his in-ring career in Continental Championship Wrestling in 1987 under the mask of Lord Humungous.
Sid would become a part of The Skyscrapers team in World Championship Wrestling, was a part of The Four Horsemen, and would go on to become a massive name in the industry, holding the WWF Championship twice, the WCW World Heavyweight Championship two times as well, main-eventing two WrestleManias (8 and 13) and being part of countless moments until his retirement in 2001, though he would make appearances for years after.
Sid was last seen on WWE television on the Raw 1000 special on July 23, 2012 and wrestled his final match on August 5, 2017 when he defeated Paul Rosenberg at the GNW 10th Anniversary Supershow event.
Despite his contributions to the industry, Sid has yet to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and recently spoke about it on The Attitude Era Podcast, stating:
“You’d think that they would offer that. Again, Vince [McMahon] didn’t like me so much; I think that’s why they haven’t offered me that. But, with Vince being gone now, you’d think those people would say, ‘Hey, this guy, we still got him on contract. He is still making a little bit of money. It would help him if we did that,’ and it would help them as well.
You would think they might want to do everything they could to promote something like that. That might be something fun to start, too. If you get back in, you might want to do something like a part-time deal, [be a] manager, or special — I think I was pretty good at interviews, too. There’s always a lot of people having a hard time with that. If I could teach them, maybe I could help them do their interviews.”
The team at eWrestlingNews.com would like to express our sincere condolences to the Eudy family and his friends and fans during this difficult time.
