The trend of taping WWE television instead of broadcasting it live will continue next month.
As we previously reported here on eWn, the NXT event scheduled for December 17 in Lowell, MA, will be broadcast with a one-hour delay. This arrangement will enable WWE to broadcast the show that evening while recording the Christmas Eve episode.
The episode of SmackDown that will air tonight was filmed a week earlier, on November 22, in Salt Lake City to allow the crew and Superstars to have Thanksgiving off.
Additionally, WWE plans to tape the December 20th SmackDown episode on December 13 in Hartford, CT, at the XL Center and the December 23rd RAW episode on December 16 in Boston, MA, at the TDBank Garden Arena.
WrestleVotes Radio is reporting that the New Year’s Eve episode of WWE NXT would also be taped in advance.
The report states, “We can tell you that the New Year’s Eve edition of NXT on the CW will be taped on Thursday night, December 19, at the PC. The show, however, will air as normal on the CW on New Year’s Eve, likely with the New Year’s Eve-type theme. TC, it’s nice that WWE is giving the young cats down there New Year’s Eve off so they can go out and celebrate and do a little drinking and partying and whatever you feel like doing on New Year’s Eve.”
