Despite the finish at WrestleMania 39, where Cody Rhodes put over Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title, WWE still has plans for the two stars to feud again.
Rhodes was expected to beat Reigns for the title but came up short.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE’s long-term plan is for Rhodes to wrestle Reigns again.
“As far as long-term goes, Reigns vs. Rhodes is the long-term direction for the ultimate destination match. WrestleMania is a strong possibility but this far out there are so many things that can happen,” Meltzer wrote.
