Zelina Vega’s Match Pulled From SmackDown, She Doesn’t Appear Thrilled

As seen during last night’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Zelina Vega was not used on the broadcast despite being heavily advertised due to the timing of the event being just one day before the 20th anniversary of 9/11. As many of you know by now, Vega’s father passed away during the 2001 terror attacks so this weekend means a lot to her.

Vega did multiple interviews promoting Friday night’s show and was excited about appearing on it. During one of the interviews, she said that SmackDown was “going to be one of those moments where I’ll have to take it in for a second because through all of the noise and everything going on, I owe it to myself to take it all in.”

Welp, plans once again changed and she was kept off the show. According to a report from Fightful, Vega’s scheduled match where she was supposed to team with Carmella against Liv Morgan and an unknown partner wound up being cut due to timing issues. As of this writing, there is no word on if WWE is still planning to have the match happen in the near future.

Vega took to Twitter during SmackDown and posted a photo of herself in her ring gear and captioned it with “nevermind.”
