Welcome to EWrestlingNews’ AEW Dynamite results for September 7, 2022.

We open up with a video announcement from AEW president Tony Khan. Khan announces that the AEW World Title and AEW Trios Titles have been vacated. New Trios Champions will be crowned in the opening match of the night. As for the AEW World Title, a tournament will be held to crown a new champion.

MJF comes to the ring to get us started. He plays up to the Buffalo crowd by wearing a Josh Allen jersey of the Buffalo Bills. He plays the good guy and vows to become AEW World Champion. He’s then interrupted by Jon Moxley, who calls MJF disingenuous. MJF then reverts back to his heel self, trashing Buffalo, the fans, and their football team.

Moxley says he’s not in the mood tonight, and says MJF needs to leave or he’ll make him leave. MJF takes off his shirt and looks like he’s ready for action, before fleeing and heading backstage. Moxley then follows up with an impassioned promo about how much the AEW World Title means to him.
