Darby Allin vs MJF:

It’s your opening contest and MJF makes his way to the ring first. As MJF waits for Darby Allin one of Allin’s trademark video packages airs. Allin makes his way to the ring with Sting in tow, but he sends “The Icon” to the back. Into the ring and the contest starts with a series of headlocks from MJF before Allin slips out. Before the match started MJF claimed he could beat Allin with a headlock, and it looks like he’s putting that to the test already. Commentary points out that the pair made their in-ring debuts just days apart and as a result are evenly matched, this is shown both audibly and visually with the two men having perfect counters to one another. A cheap shot from MJF as he sends Allin to the outside, before a lariat follows. MJF starts to perform a Ric Flair-esque strut as he takes some time to trash-talk the AEW audience. A lapse in concentration is all Allin needs as he slips into the ring and dives out onto his opponent. Allin begins to take control for the first time in the contest but it’s brief. Following a failed attempt at a Coffin Drop onto the apron, the pair head into the ring and it’s all MJF. A dominant few minutes follow as MJF shows off his strength in a variety of ways. Into the corner and MJF bites the face of the former AEW TNT Champion, as the pair climb up Allin bites back. MJF goes for a tombstone-piledriver off the top-rope but Allin counters with a stunner and both men are down. Darby is first to his feet and goes for the Coffin Drop again, MJF rolls away and it’s back to the headlocks. MJF hits a huge backbreaker for a two-count as he looks visibly annoyed. Darby’s on his knees begging MJF to hit him some more. Allin shows some fight as he gets to his feet leaping at MJF at an attempt at a Code Red, but MJF counters for another two-count. The pair trade submission attempts in the middle of the ring before a chop-block from Allin again sends both men to the ground. Allin begins to focus on the left knee of MJF after MJF twinged it earlier in the contest locking in a figure-four. The pair roll towards the ropes as they begin to exchange blows on the apron, Allin attempts a superplex but instead finds himself on the receiving end of a massive tombstone onto the apron. The impact of the move again inflicted damage on MJF’s knee as both men are down on the outside, MJF is in first as Darby takes the count all the way to nine. Into the ring and Darby produces a trio of roll-ups before both men roll around the ring locked in position. The roll-ups keep coming before both men drag each other to their feet and Darby hits a Code Red out of nowhere – but it’s just a two-count! MJF rolls to the outside to catch his breath and Darby sees his opening, springing to his feet he climbs the turnbuckle and hits a Coffin Drop onto the outside. Darby goes for another Coffin Drop this time in the ring but MJF gets his knees up. Shawn Spears and Wardlow start heading down the ramp to help MJF but Sting is there to intervene, baseball bat in hand. MJF and Allin trade a couple more two-counts as MJF goes to the outside. MJF slides in Allin’s skateboard and taunts him, begging him to get disqualified. Darby refuses and as the referee goes to take the skateboard out, MJF hits Allin with his diamond ring, he follows this up with a headlock takedown for the 1-2-3, fulfilling his prophecy. A great opening match to AEW Full Gear 2021.

Winner: MJF

Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix vs. “FTR” Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler – AEW Tag Team Championship Match:

Both teams start off with a scrappy affair as all four members are brawling with one-another, it carries on as so until Penta and Harwood are the only two in the ring. Both teams tag out to their partners as the Lucha Bros really start to show off their high-flying abilities. To the outside as FTR begin to take control, throwing Fenix into Penta. Back into the ring and Fenix finds himself in the last place he’d want to be, isolated well away from his corner. All four men find themselves back in the ring as they start to take turns showing off what they’re best at, FTR attempting to ground the rapid offence of the Lucha Bros. Stereo kicks on both members of FTR as the AEW Tag Team Champions start to really dominate. FTR drag Penta to their corner and the challengers begin to heel it up some more, a couple of hits here and there when the referee’s back was turned followed by tying Penta’s mask to the ropes. Fenix manages the tag but with the ref not seeing it he had to wait for his chance to help out his brother. He finally gets in and has a burst of momentum, with the two teams again trading who has the advantage with neither team showing complete control. Harwood clocks Fenix with the AAA Championship as it looks like Wheeler is going to get the win, but it’s just a two-count. Like sharks smelling blood in the water FTR go on the hunt. Quick tags, followed by close two-counts as Fenix just manages to get his shoulders up. Tags for both teams as Hardwood and Penta trade blows and momentum. Penta goes for the finish but Tully Blanchard on the outside provides the distraction, a huge punch from Harwood is followed by an attempt at Eddie Guerrero’s trademark ‘Three Amigos’. Two down, but Penta manages to counter on the third as he gets to his corner. Fenix makes an immediate impact on his return to the contest securing a two-count that was as close as it gets to being a three. The match goes on and the high tempo and high number of two-counts don’t let up. The most impressive of which came after Fenix leapt off Penta’s shoulders as both members of the Lucha Bros went for pins at the same time. The match goes on with the victory for Lucha Bros coming after Cash Wheeler elected to put on a mask when not the legal man and was then pinned. Perhaps just this writers opinion but a disappointing finish to what was an excellent match at AEW Full Gear 2021.

Winners: The Lucha Bros

Miro vs Bryan Danielson – Final of the AEW Eliminator Tournament for a future shot at the AEW World Championship:

Trading of styles early on in this contest, with Danielson first attempting to utilise his speed advantage only for Miro to match him on that front and then some. After that failed Danielson attempted to take Miro to the floor targeting the latter’s weakened right leg, but again he had no luck. At this point Miro has begun to take control, huge clubbing blows and throws and he launches Danielson around the outside. Back into the ring and it’s stiff shots, followed by hammer-throws. Danielson after being on the receiving end of stiff shots finally gets to return the favour with some sharp kicks in the corner, it looks like the beginning of a comeback but a Samoan drop from Miro temporarily delays that flight. Miro looks set to be taking charge once more, but he’s sent to the outside by Danielson. A running knee off the apron from Danielson and now he’s finally getting his time to shine. Back in the ring and it’s all Danielson, dropkicks from the top rope followed by a tight submission on Miro’s leg and it looks like the Bulgarian Brute could well tap. The hold gets tighter and tighter but you can’t keep an animal like Miro down for too long, as he springs up with a huge suplex. A series of German-suplexes follow as Miro’s strengths are on full display for the world to see, but his weakness is just as clear with his leg giving him clear issues. Another German attempt is countered by Danielson as Miro’s leg gives way. Down on his knees, Miro takes a stiff kick to the head before Danielson starts to stomp on his head. Danielson is waiting in the corner and he’s lining up the running-knee. He goes flying towards Miro but his opponent successfully catches him with a powerbomb. Miro continues his focus on Danielson’s back, before locking in the Game Over. As deep as the hold is synched in, Danielson manages to push his way to the bottom rope. Miro does some more damage to Bryan’s back before once again going for the Game Over but Danielson counters into the Lebell Lock. Covering Miro’s eyes he has little idea over how close he was to the ropes and nears tapping out but he pushes through and breaks the hold. One more submission before the pair both get to their feet. Miro begs Danielson to do his worst, giving him a free shot at his chest. Danielson goes for a kick and Miro takes it, but when the latter replies with one of his own Danielson isn’t so lucky. Totally out-strengthened Miro takes Danielson to the corner with a series of slaps. As they climb to the top Danielson hits a tornado-DDT and then immediately locks in a submission, Miro is out cold though and Danielson picks up the win.

Winner (and new #1 Contender for the AEW World Championship) – Bryan Danielson:

Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus, and Christian Cage vs. Adam Cole and “The Young Bucks” Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson – Falls Count Anywhere match:

A manic start to the first non-traditional match at AEW Full Gear 2021, with all six men moving at one hundred miles an hour. Jungle Boy sets up a chair in the middle of the ring, and he casually sends both members of the Young Bucks to the outside all whilst taking a seat. As Jungle Boy gloats at his success, Adam Cole knocks him off his perch. This time it’s Cole’s time to gloat as he goes for the “Adam Cole bay-bay” chant, only for Christian Cage to drop him onto the chair. All six members head the outside as Luchasaurus goes for the first pin of the match but only gets a two-count. The big man sets up a chair as Jungle Boy lifts up Adam Cole, Cole gets a superkick followed by being dropped on the chair for his troubles in a real “Welcome to AEW pal” style as he’s massively bloodied. Cole is slid into the ring as Cage and Jungle Boy place him in position for a Con-chairto. Before Cole can meet his bloody demise, the Young Bucks make the save as Christian and Nick Jackson disappear into the crowd brawling away. With the remaining four men all in the ring, they begin to trade superkicks with Matt Jackson setting Luchsaurus up on a table on the outside. Jungle Boy hurricanrana’s Adam Cole onto one table as Matt Jackson puts Luchasaurus through the other. The cameraman then catches up with the other two missing men, Nick Jackson and Christian Cage. The pair are fighting in the upper sections of the Target Centre as Cage leaps off a concourse entrance onto Jackson and onto the concrete for a two-count. The pair head down to the ring as Cole and the Young Bucks begin to take control. Isolating Jungle Boy in the middle of the ring, they produce one of the most sickening moves seen in AEW. Filling up Jungle Boy’s mouth with thumbtacks, before producing stereo kicks at the young stars head. Christan Cage attempts to clean house with little luck, but Luchasaurus is back to his feet as he sends both Young Bucks onto a ladder. For the briefest moment, the Young Bucks think they’ve got the advantage but a pinfall attempt is kicked out of at one. Matt Jackson begins to run up the stage, and before you know it all six men are brawling at the top of the ramp. Stage dives, spear attempts it’s everything you could want. Jungle Boy begins to climb up the scaffolding but Cole pulls him down as the pair trade places, Cole then hits Jungle Boy with a Panama Sunrise off the scaffolding. It looks set to guarantee the win but Luchasaurus breaks it up. All three men of the Super-Kliq are up as Adam Cole produces a set of kneepads with thumbtacks lodged into them. They hit a three-piece BTE Trigger on Luchasaurus with the pads on and yet again the pin is broken up as the match goes on. Luchasaurus chokeslams Adam Cole onto Brandon Cutler and Nick Jackson before hitting a moonsault off the stage onto the mass below. Back on the stage, Matt Jackson is lined up for the Con-Chairto once again as Cage gives up the chair to Jungle Boy so he can finish it. He swings, he slams and he gets the 1-2-3. AEW Full Gear so far has been a masterpiece at showing just how good tag team wrestling can be!

Winners: Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus, and Christian Cage

Cody Rhodes and PAC vs. Malakai Black and Andrade El Idolo:

As the match starts, Andrade looks set to face off with PAC. A blind tag from Cody looks set to put a stop to that before a blow can even be thrown. PAC tags himself back in and Malakai does the same. A brief exchange between the two legal men before once again the blind tags come out and the legal men both change. Both men swing a few punches but in no time at all two more blind tags as again the legal men change. Black takes control before Andrade tags in and for the first time in the match it looks like we’ll see a rivalry come to the ring. That quickly comes to an end as Black is back in the match, but so is Cody. Cody goes for the Cross-Rhodes but is pushed into his corner as PAC tags in. Rhodes is visibly annoyed and even though he’s not the legal man he’s struck with a Black Mass (is it still called that?). PAC sends both of his opponents to the outside, before laying both men out with a moonsault off the apron. As the match heads back into the ring Black and Andrade are firmly in control. With PAC still without a partner due to Rhodes still being down. PAC takes a barrage of abuse from both of his opponents as he struggles to put any distance between himself and Andrade/Black. He finally gets to his own corner but Rhodes isn’t there for the tag. Andrade hits a springboard move onto PAC, as the Geordie lad looks to be fading. The finish could have been nearing if not for Black deciding to tag himself in, as another disagreement between Black/Andrade follows. PAC lays out Black and with both men down they’re both forced to make the tag as Rhodes get the hot tag. Rhodes controls the bout for the next few minutes with only minor difficulty, as he locks Andrade in a figure-four. With the hold locked in and Andrade close to Rhodes’ corner, PAC tags himself in. Climbing to the top rope PAC hits a 450 splash that was destined to secure the win if not for Andrade being within touching distance of the ropes. The match goes on as PAC is almost pinned but Rhodes makes the save. Rhodes and Black both head over the barrier as the focus returns to the ring. PAC takes down Andrade before hitting the Black Arrow for the victory. Following the match, FTR’s Cash Wheeler and Tully Blanchard attacked Rhodes and PAC. Noticeably Dax Harwood was not with them.

Winners: PAC & Cody Rhodes

Dr Britt Baker D.M.D vs Tay Conti – AEW Women’s World Championship Match:

A few early attempts at a rollup from the champion as it looks like Baker is trying to end Conti’s first AEW pay-per-view appearance nice and early. The crowd are noticeably louder in this contest as it sounds like they’ve found their voice again following a bit of a dip in after the Fall Count Anywhere match. Baker’s fighting viciously as she keeps attempting the Lockjaw early on. Conti hammered down on Baker’s injured hand as she looks to gain some momentum after being largely muted in the early parts of the contest. Conti fails to get a three-count and starts to look panicked in her first appearance on the big stage. Baker and Conti roll together before Conti is on the receiving end of a curb-stomp. Baker heads over to Hayter and Rebel on the outside and is handed her glove, signalling the Lockjaw could be on the way. Conti has other ideas as she begins the fight back. The next few minutes are as even as it gets with neither woman taking the advantage despite Baker dropping Conti on the apron with a huge move. Conti sees an opening though and hits Baker with the Ta-KO only for Baker to kick out at the very last second. As is the story in so many of Baker’s matches it’s Hayter and Rebel who make the difference. As Rebel distracts the referee, Hayter sends Conti out of the ring and into the steel steps. Baker then takes to the apron before curb-stomping Conti onto the steps. Another curb-stomp in the ring but Baker elects to not go for the pin, instead of attempting the Lockjaw. Conti rolls through and the hold is broken. With the team of Baker, Hayter and Rebel on the outside Conti hits a moonsault onto two of the trio with Baker walking away unscathed. Conti takes down Baker before rolling the champion into the ring and laying her out with the DD-Tay. Once again though, Baker finds the strength to kick out at the very last second. A lastditch attempt at the Lockjaw from Baker is reversed into a roll-up by Conti, only for Baker again to roll through as she securing the 1-2-3. Britt Baker leaves AEW Full Gear still you Women’s World Champion.

Winner: Dr Britt Baker D.M.D

CM Punk vs Eddie Kingston:

Before the match starts Kingston lays out Punk and boy is he happy to see Punk down. When the match does get started it’s a story of clashing styles, Punk wants to wrestle, Kingston wants to fight. With just a few minutes gone, Punk is already busted open. Kingston goes to piledriver Punk onto the outside but Punk reverses it. Punk’s smiling and laughing as he tastes his own blood, before taking to the apron and leaping at Kingston. Back in the ring and Punk unleashes the ‘Five Moves of Doom’ that you may have seen a certain man from West Newbury use in his career. As Punk went for a 5 Knuckle Shuffle, Kingston responded by flipping him the bird. We may have seen a failed attempt at the ‘Three Amigos’ earlier in the night but this time Punk successfully nailed it. As the pair head to the top-rope, Kingston has his opening as he sends Punk and himself to the ground. Both men head to their corners as a face-off begins. Springing to their feet the pair exchange blows, Punk gets off a big hit but again Kingston shows his feelings with two fingers. Kingston has a brief flurry but out of nowhere he’s lifted up for a GTS but it doesn’t bring home the victory. Punk starts to utilize his MMA style with some knees as he’s met by vocal boos from the audience at AEW Full Gear. Punk looks at the audience before hitting another GTS for the win. Post-match Punk offers a handshake to Kingston but Eddie refuses, rolling out of the ring and up the ramp.

Winner: CM Punk

“The Inner Circle” Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Santana, Ortiz, and Jake Hager vs. “American Top Team” Dan Lambert, Ethan Page, Scorpio Sky, Junior Dos Santos, and Andrei Arlovski – Minneapolis Street Fight:

Sammy Guevara and Scorpio Sky start off the match and it’s an impressive aerial display from Guevara from the word go. Sky is taken down before each member of the Inner Circle bar Jericho tag in and get some damage in on Sky. Sky tags out to Arlovski as Hager and the former UFC Heavyweight Champion trade blows. The pair switch out for Junior Dos Santos and Chris Jericho as more bombs come raining down. Dos Santos produces a stunning standing moonsault for a one-count. Lambert sees this as his chance to get involved as he tags in and goes for a slap on Jericho. Jericho catches the hand and the contest falls into mayhem with bodies flying everywhere. With everyone but Hager on the outside, he takes his chance and leaps onto the competition. Lambert managed to avoid the melee and finds himself a bat. Just about every weapon you could dream of was under the ring, as toasters, pipes, footballs and everything else under the sun is used. Santana and Ortiz take Ethan Page into the ring as they place a trash can over his head and get to swinging with a pair of hockey sticks. Scorpio Sky tries to make the save but finds himself and Page locked in a pair of submissions by Proud and Powerful. Members of both teams slide in and out of the ring with only Sky remaining throughout it all. A stunner followed by a flip off the top rope by Guevara on Sky almost gets the win, but the TNT Champion is narrowly denied. Guevara sets up a table on the outside and after it looked like he might be the one going through it at one point by force he decided, he’d do it by his own accord. Scaling a massive ladder, he landed a beautiful Swanton Bomb onto Scorpio Sky through the table. A series of incredible moments follow, Ethan Page is put in the Iron Claw by Baron Von Rashcke (who was earlier shown in the front row), and Santana used a security guard as a step as he went flying into the crowd. Dan Lambert is the only man in the ring as he starts to gloat, before Jericho meets him and starts to attack. A kendo stick and a move from the heavens followed as Jericho used Eddie Guerrero’s frog splash for the win.

Winners: The Inner Circle

Tony Schiavone announces that Jay Lethal is All Elite! Lethal comes out and says he will be challenging for the TNT Championship this Wednesday on Dynamite. Sammy comes out and accepts the challenge. AEW Full Gear just got Lethal!

Kenny Omega vs “Hangman” Adam Page – AEW World Championship Match:

Well… Adam Page is over. Like really f’in over. He’s 12-1 in 2021 singles matches, will he make that 13-1 and lift the AEW World Championship over two years on after he failed to beat Chris Jericho at All Out 2019? Omega enters the arena in ‘big-match attire’ with one wing on his shirt, and is met with deafening boos from the AEW Full Gear audience when Justin Roberts reads out his name. As soon as the bell rings the trash talk beings, with Omega and Page verbally sparring in the middle of the ring. Trading of headlocks and chops starts the match, with neither man looking to be outdone by the other. Page goes to bounce off the ropes and Don Callis pulls his leg on the outside as very audible “F*ck Don Callis” chants break out. They don’t slow down as Callis again gets some offence in on Page. Despite the interference from Callis it does little to stop the back-and-forth nature of the contest as Page finds himself getting in his fair share of offence. To the outside as the pair crash into the barrier multiple times, before Page lays out Omega with a suplex on the outside. Back in the ring as a crossbody from Page manages a one-count but nothing more, before Omega gets back in control after sticking his thumb in Page’s eye. Omega is firmly in control now, with a little more interference from Callis helping him along the way. Omega gets on the apron and teases going for Hangman’s springboard lariat, but he was just looking for a rise. Omega sends Page to the outside before hitting the Terminator Dive on him to the outside. Omega slides back into the ring with Page, before a moonsault attempt is met with Page’s knees. Page is feeling it now, as he fires up with the crowd’s roar, the Target Centre is firmly with him and he knows it. A two-count on Omega, as the chinks in the Champion’s armour are starting to show. The pair head to the top rope but Omega sends Page crashing with a sunset flip, before following up with a pair of snap-suplexes. Omega places Page in place as he hits him with the V-Trigger, before lifting him up for the One-Winged-Angel, only to be met with a reversal and a huge move from Hangman for another two-count. The evenly matched nature of the contest continues as Omega almost immediately gets a two-count of his own, before he starts biting at Page’s head opening up the wound he suffered on this week’s Dynamite. Both men then find themselves on the top rope, with Page taking Omega for a trip with an avalanche blockbuster. Omega crawls to the outside, but he’s far from safe with Page on the attack. Page balances himself on the top of the turnbuckle, before leaping at Omega taking both men through a table. Omega is back in the ring as Hangman attempts the Buckshot Lariat, only for Omega’s legs to give way. Page attempts a V-Trigger of his own, but Omega reverses it only to be met with a reversal himself. Omega gets planted with a pop-up powerbomb before again going for the Buckshot. This time Omega manages to pull the referee in the way, saving himself and his title. Callis and Omega both swing at Page with the AEW World Championship, yet they both miss before Page hits the Deadshot on Omega. With no referee in sight, a new ref comes flying down the ramp for a very very close near fall. Omega and Page trade big moves but the pair are physically spent at this point, as neither man looks like they have much left in the tank. The Young Bucks make their way down the ramp, limping as they go. Page goes for the Buckshot and yet again Omega has a response, meeting him with a V-Trigger. Page isn’t out for long though as he hits Omega with a One-Winged-Angel, but yet again it’s not enough. Page goes to the apron for a Buckshot one last time but Nick Jackson is there… Jackson makes a judgment call and he leaves Page to it. Buckshot to the back of Omega’s head but the champ isn’t out yet. Again Page makes his way to the apron, and again there’s a Jackson there who could stop him but doesn’t ‘t as Matt Jackson lets Page go for it one last time and bam Buckshot Lariat, 1-2-3! “Hangman” Adam Page has done it, “Hangman” Adam Page is your new AEW World Champion. After tonight’s show we have a new number one contender in Bryan Danielson, and by God, we have a new AEW World Champion as well in “Hangman” Adam Page. After the match, The Dark Order come to the ring and lift up Page, celebrating with their friend in the biggest moment of his career.

Winner (And new AEW World Champion) – “Hangman” Adam Page
