AEW Rampage Results (5/20/2022)
#1. Fuego Del Sol, Evil Uno & Ten vs. House of Black’s Malakai Black, Brody King & Buddy Matthews — Winners: House of Black
Death Triangle is here and they have something to unveil. Penta Oscuro reveals a tombstone for the House of Black, with the destination being Double or Nothing.
– Backstage, it is revealed that Anthony Bowens is injured, so Billy Gunn’s stable is down a member. Still, it doesn’t get them down, they are still looking to make an impact.
– FTR accepts Roppongi Vice’s challenge, but they aren’t making a joke out of this. They have come to fight and will leave as champions.
#2. Shawn Spears vs. Big Damo — Winner: Shawn Spears
– Kyle O’Reilly says he would be honored to face Adam Cole in the final of the Owen Hart Cup when they both get through their semi-finals. After that, Matt Jackson says it’s time we get the tag team dream match of this era on the Double or Nothing card. The Hardys vs. The Young Bucks. Let’s get this super kick party started.
#3. [Owen Hart Cup Quarter-Final] Kris Statlander vs. Red Velvet — Winner: Kris Statlander
The Baddies jump the ring to attack Statlander. Ruby Soho rushes in to save her, but Jade Cargil smashes her down to the ring. Just as they look like taking out Statlander, Anna Jay appears, takes Mark Sterling’s crutch, and saves the day for Statlander & Soho.
– In between segments, we see a montage of Tony Nese training with Sterling, and Hookhausen getting ready for their handicap match with him at Double or Nothing.
Scorpio Sky demands Sammy Guevara bring his TNT title down to the ring before he buries him, just like he did SCU. Guevara and Tay appear on the video screen. He tells them to give him a match, or he will destroy the championship belt. Sky refuses, so Guevara takes a sledgehammer to it. Kazarian shows up and gets a piece of the action. Guevara says that no matter what happens, he’s getting that title shot.
– Britt Baker and Toni Storm talk about their upcoming match. Baker asks if Storm can handle the pressure of such a big match. Storm says if there’s any funny business from her friends, she will rearrange her teeth and become her DMD. Baker has no answer for it and walks away.
#4. Bryan Danielson & Jon Moxley vs. Matt Sydal & Dante Martin — Winners: Danielson & Moxley
The Jericho Appreciation Society and Blackpool Combat Club fight after the bell and likely long after the show goes off the air. Thanks for reading! See you next week for Dynamite.
