Here are your live results for AEW Rampage: The First Dance, airing August 20th, 2021. Quick results for the show are as follows:

  • CM Punk returned after 7 years away!!!
  • Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus) (w/ Marko Stunt) defeated Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) (w/ Matt Hardy) – Semi-final tag team match in the AEW World Tag Team Championship Eliminator Tournament
  • Jade Cargill (w/ Mark Sterling) defeated Kiera Hogan – Singles match
  • Jon Moxley (w/ Eddie Kingston) defeated Daniel Garcia ( w/ Jeff Parker & Matt Lee)

– ‘The most anticipated announcement in AEW history’ will kick off the show. Chris Jericho is absent from commentary after his loss on Dynamite, he has been replaced by Jim Ross.

Cult of Personality plays – CM Punk is back! Punk walks out before kneeling on the ground, as he takes in the deafening reception with a huge smile on his face. A hug for one fan, before he looks across the entranceway, and jumps into the crowd. Cult of Personality ends and Punk is still not in the ring. He makes his way around the ring, grabbing a microphone as the show heads to an ad break.

Back from the ad break, and the crowd have not stopped. Punk’s now in the ring, and he admits we are winging it not he. He says he knew he needed to feel it. He says he feels Chicago, he hears Chicago (believe me people miles away could hear Chicago). He says for 7 years, he heard those chants, and now Wednesdays, Fridays, and four or five Saturdays/Sundays a year, he’s got the time and he isn’t going anywhere. He admits he was never going to get healthy physically, spiritually or mentally staying in the same place he got sick in the first place.

Punk starts to tell a story, but before he can he takes off his jumper, showing off the new CM Punk shirt. He sits down crossed-leg as he did for the ‘pipe-bomb promo. He talks about how he left Ring of Honor with tears in his eyes, and as he walked down tonight he knows why he had those tears. He says he knew when he left ROH, for the other company it wasn’t going to be easy. He says, August 13th, 2005 he left professional wrestling, but on August 20th, 2021 – he’s back. He says he’s back for the fans, and he’s back for him. He says he’s back to work with those young talents that have the same fire he had, as well as the scores he has to settle in the locker room.

He calls out Darby Allin, who is shown with Sting up in the rafters. Punk says Darby is good, he’s tough like every person in Chicago. Punk says he is going to help Darby, and he challenges Darby to a match at All Out. September 5th, 2021 – CM Punk will make his return to the ring in just over two weeks. One last thing, he says he understands that people have waited a long time for him. So, he’s made sure everyone in the arena tonight can have a free ice-cream bar on Punk.

– A backstage promo where Christian Cage hypes up Jurassic Express for tonight’s AEW Tag Team Championship semi-final tournament match. He also says he has Kenny Omega’s number.

Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) (w/ Matt Hardy) vs Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus) (w/ Marko Stunt):

– Before the match can start, the AEW World Tag Team Champions the Young Bucks take their seats at the top of the entrance ramp.

Jungle Boy and Isiah Kassidy start the match off. Neither seem to be able to get a move off on the other, as they produce counter after counter. Marq Quen tags in, as Jungle Boy starts to get some offence in. Seeing his partner struggling, Kassidy distracts the referee as Quen produces some heeling offence. Matt Hardy also gets his licks in from the outside, with the ref distracted. Jungle Boy is sent to the outside as Private Party hit a Poetry in Motion on Jungle Boy as he leans against the guardrail. They head back into the ring, as Private Party continue to isolate Jungle Boy well away from Luchasaurus. Marko Stunt tries to get the crowd behind Jungle Boy, as he attempted to crawl towards Luchasaurus. Quen stops him, sending him into the corner. Private Party aimed to hit another Poetry in Motion, but Jungle Boy jumps off Kassidy’s back wiping out Quen. He then hits Kassidy with a forearm and finally gets Luchasarus into the match. Luchasaurus wipes out the competition, before he and Jungle Boy take to the corner aiming to hit a massive super-plex. Kassidy begins to fight back, and hits a massive Canadian Destroyer on Jungle Boy, with Jungle Boy still on Luchasaurus’ shoulders. Kassidy goes for the cover, but Luchasaurus makes the save.

Luchasaurus is sent to the outside after a guillotine on the ropes, before Kassidy assists Quen onto the ropes with Quen hitting a huge shooting-star press to the outside. Back in the ring, and Jungle Boy picks up a two-count on Kassidy. Matt Hardy and Stunt fight on the apron, before Kassidy uses the distraction to get another two-count. Private Party attempt to hit the Gin ‘n Juice, but Jungle Boy reverses it. Quen gets hit with a tornado-DDT, followed by Jurassic Express’ finisher for the 1-2-3.

Winners: Jurrasic Express

– Backstage Kenny Omega says he is going to send Christian Cage back to retirement.

Kiera Hogan vs Jade Cargill (w/ Mark Sterling):

Kiera Hogan lasts just a few minutes in her AEW Rampage debut. Getting just one move in on Cargill. Cargill quickly lifts up Hogan, before planting her for the win. Cargill remains undefeated.

Winner: Jade Cargill

– CM Punk’s first appearance on AEW Dynamite is announced for next week’s show.

– Mark Henry hosts a pre-match promo between Daniel Garcia and Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley (w/ Eddie Kingston) vs Daniel Garcia (w/ 2.0):

Moxley takes Garcia straight to the corner, before hitting him with a german-suplex. Moxley unleashes a flurry of kicks on Garcia, but his leg is caught. Moxley’s leg was weakened earlier in the week after he was attacked, so Garcia continues to attack the leg, twisting and turning away. Moxley attempted to lock in a submission before Garcia raised him up and sent him into the corner. Moxley hits Garcia with a big boot, before following it up with two more german-suplexes. Moxley begins to take full control over the match, hitting a suplex followed by attempting the Paradigm Shift. Garcia counters Moxley’s attempt managing to stick Moxley in an ankle-lock. He holds Moxley in the submission, until Moxley managed to roll through, locking in a submission of his own. Moxley continues to tighten his submission, and Garcia taps out.

Winner: Jon Moxley

– Post-match 2.0 and Garcia attack Moxley/Kingston, using their numbers advantage. Sting and Darby Allin head to the ring, to even the odds and make the save. The take out 2.0 and Garcia, and Allin hits a coffin-drop. Moxley/Kingston, Sting/Allin celebrate as the show goes off the air.
