Ring of Honor Tag Team Champion Mark Briscoe makes his first appearance since the untimely passing of his brother, Jay Briscoe. Mark takes on Jay Lethal in a match dedicated to his late brother. Darby Allin will defend his AEW TNT championship against Buddy Matthews in another TNT Championship Open match. Toni Storm will face Ruby Soho in a rescheduled match following an announcement of injury from Britt Baker. The team of Junglehook will face Matt Hardy and Ethan Page. Bryan Danielson and Brian Cage will go one on one in the continuing series leading up to Revolution, and a potential shot at the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.

We open up as the Jericho Appreciation Society is coming to the ring. 

Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara defeat Action Andretti & Ricky Starks

Action Andretti and Sammy Guevara begin the bout. They both exchange a combination of flips and rolls around one another. They fall to their knees in a stand off with each other. Sammy slaps Andretti hard and he crumbles to the mat. Guevara backs him into the corner with chops. Andretti comes back and sends Sammy over the top rope. As Sammy comes back he taunts Andretti, running the ropes, before soaring over the top rope onto him. Action Andretti lands a Spanish Fly and gets a tag to Ricky Starks. Sammy Guevara makes the tag to Chris Jericho as well and Jericho and Starks meet in the middle of the ring, exchanging forearm strikes. Ricky walks the top rope but is caught in a cutter by Sammy Guevara. Jericho covers for a close two count. Jericho mocks Starks, slamming him around on the mat and stepping on his chest.

With Sammy Guevara back in, Starks gets his feet up to block a top rope dive from him and makes the tag to Action Andretti. Andretti lands a neck breaker on Jericho and hits two back to back middle rope dives to the outside of the ring. A double crossbody puts both Guevara and Andretti down on the mat. They both fight for a tag and make it. Stark runs a spear into Jericho and covers for the pin but it is broken at two by Sammy. Starks then hits a powerbomb but it also only gets a two count. Andretti is tagged back in and he fails a moonsault attempt on Jericho. Jericho tags in Guevara. Jericho snatches Andretti from the ring apron and nails him in the eye with his thumb. Still, Andretti lands a cutter on Sammy for a two count. Danny Garcia strikes Andretti with a bat from the ring apron and Sammy Guevara hits finisher and covers for the pin. Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara win.

We see an emotional video package highlighting the career and life of Jay Briscoe and his brother, Mark.

AEW TNT Championship: Darby Allin defeats Buddy Matthews

Buddy Matthews starts things off strong with a huge thigh kick to Darby Allin’s face. Allin suffers two repeated slams to the ring apron but then reverses a powerbomb attempt into a Hurricaran. Darby makes it back in to the ring but is tripped up in the ring apron by Buddy Matthews, leaving him grasping at his knee. Matthews goes to work on the leg with Darby coming back with a flip off of the top rope to the outside area. The lights go out. When they come back up, Brody King and Malakai Black are at ring side. Sting fights them off as Buddy Matthews hits a powerbomb on Darby Allin. It gets a close two count and we go to commercial break.

Returning from commercial Darby Allin is trying to escape from on top of Buddy Matthews’s shoulders. Matthews slams him face first on to the mat. They both exchange roll ups for close two counts. With both men down, the referee begins his count and reaches six before both men are to their feet. They exchange blows before Matthews powerbombs Darby into the ring post. Matthews attempts a pump handle slam but Darby rolls him up quickly. Buddy Matthews kicks out and throws Allin into the corner. He sets him up for a suplex off of the top rope but Darby Allin reverses into a crossbody and covers for a close two. Allin comes off of the top rope with his Coffin Drop and covers. Darby Allin wins, retaining the AEW TNT Championship.

Tony Schiavonie is in the ring ready to interview Darby Allin but Samoa Joe interrupts. He says he is coming back to reclaim what is his; the AEW TNT Championship. 

Junglehook defeat Matt Hardy & Ethan Page

Jungle Boy and Matt Hardy look to start things off before Ethan Page asks for the tag. Page comes in and clotheslines Jungle Boy hard. He makes the quick tag to Matt Hardy and they double team him. Hook and Ethan Page brawl outside of the ring while Jungle Boy puts Hardy down in the ring. Matt Hardy comes back and makes the tag to Ethan Page and they both suplex him off of the top rope. We go to commercial break.

Coming back from the commercial Page has Jungle Boy in an arm lock as he tags in Matt Hardy. Matt Hardy hits him from the top rope. Jungle Boy reverses another double team maneuver and makes the tag to Hook. Hook sends Matt Hardy to the outside. Hook tags in Jungle Boy who catches a Side Effect from Hardy. Ethan Page comes back in and is caught in a snare trap by Jungle Boy. Page reaches for the tag to Hardy but does not make it before submitting. Junglehook wins.

A back stage segment is shown of Billy Gunn having family therapy with the Acclaimed and the Gunn boys. The Acclaimed says that the Gunns just would not have worked as champions. Billy tells his sons that they took the easy way out. They said their mistakes were their father’s fault.

Hangman Adam Page back stage is asked what he hopes to accomplish next. He says that he and Jon Moxley are 1-1 and he wants to knock him out in Dayton, Ohio. Wheeler Yuta interrupts and challenges Adam Page to a match on this week’s episode of AEW Rampage.

Bryan Danielson defeats Brian Cage

Brian Cage and Bryan Danielson lock up and Cage tosses Danielson across the ring. They lock up their hands in a test of strength and Cage brings Danielson down to the mat. Danielson targets a kick to the knees but is then backed in to the ring corner where Cage chops across the chest. Danielson battles back with high kicks to the chest. Danielson brings Cage down with elbow strikes and keeps him grounded with a crossface maneuver. Cage reaches the ropes and retreats to the outside of the ring. Danielson takes to the top rope and hits a crossbody on him. With the action back in the ring, Danielson misses another top rope attempt and is press slammed by Cage. Cage drops Danielson on his back on the ring apron and we go to commercial break.

Back from commercial break Brian Cage has Bryan Danielson in a front facing shoulder lock. Danielson kicks his way out, backing Cage into the corner. Cage reverses and smashes a forearm into Danielson. He suplexes Danielson from the ring apron back into the ring. He does a German Suplex the same way and gets a close two count. Cage gets Danielson up on the top rope and attempts a powerbomb but Danielson fights out and nails a superplex. Danielson reaches his feet first and begins to kick Cage over and over again in the chest. Following a close two count he attempts a triangle lock hold but Cage powers out. Cage misses a German Suplex but hits a powerbomb. He goes for a second but Danielson rolls him up and gets the pinfall. Bryan Danielson wins.

Brian Cage continues to assault Danielson after the bell. MJF comes down the aisle and grabs a chair from the announcer’s desk before handing it over to Cage. Cage ties Danielson’s arm up in the chair and throws him into the steel ring post. MJF takes to punching Bryan Danielson while he is down. Brian Cage ties Danielson’s arm up in the chair again and MJF prepares to stomp on it. Konosuke Takeashita storms the ring to break it up. MJF and Brian Cage flee.

Ruby Soho defeats Toni Storm

Ruby Soho ties up with Toni Storm at the bell and backs her into the ropes. Storm takes a moment outside of the ring before coming back in and exchanging blows with Soho. Toni goes for a spinning DDT off of the top rope but Ruby reverses and nails her with a forearm. Soho is sent to the outside with a failed move off of the ropes. Toni Storm rams her into the ring apron and then tosses her into the crowd barricade. We go to commercial break.

As we return from the commercial break Ruby Soho is battle back against Toni Storm. She hits a high back body drop and a front face slam. Toni Storm rolls through a lock up and gets a quick two count. Ruby Soho puts her back down to the mat and climbs to the top rope. Toni begins to move and Ruby rolls through her high risk maneuver. Toni Storm fakes a face injury to gain the advantage. She rams her knee into Ruby’s face and hits a spinning DDT. She covers but Ruby Soho kicks out at two. Dr Britt Baker’s music hits and she appears on the entrance ramp. Toni is distracted and Ruby hits her finisher and she covers. Ruby Soho wins.

MJF informs us from backstage that next week Bryan Danielson will face Timothy Thatcher.

Mark Briscoe defeats Jay Lethal

Mark Briscoe and Jay Lethal shake hands after the bell sounds. Mark takes Jay down with a side head lock and then works in a wrist lock. They exchange tosses and arm drags and then stand to face one another in the ring. Jay Lethal backs Mark Briscoe into the corner and chops him across the chest. Briscoe taunts him and they exchange back and forth chops with Briscoe whipping Lethal into the opposite corner, following up with a splash. Briscoe hits a neck breaker and covers for a two count. We go to commercial break.

We return from commercial break we have Mark Briscoe coming back from a side head lock from Jay Lethal. Briscoe hits a kick to the head and follows up with a splash in the corner of the ring. He slams Lethal and gets a close two count. Lethal hits his Lethal Combination for a close two count of his own. Jay Lethal lands a Lethal Injection but Mark Briscoe rolls to the outside of the ring. They battle back and forth on the outside with Lethal setting Briscoe up on an announcer’s table. Briscoe makes it back into the ring and knocks Jay Lethal to the ring apron. He nails a cutter on him and then splashes him through the announcer’s desk. Mark Briscoe rolls Jay Lethal back into the ring and covers him. Jay kicks out at two. Briscoe hooks the arms but Lethal reverses and goes for another Lethal Injection. Mark catches him with a forearm and then a Triller. He covers Jay and gets the pinfall. Mark Briscoe wins. The locker room comes out for a standing ovation from the entranceway.
