AEW Dynamite Results (4/3/2024)

Adam Copeland says there has been a ton of negative feedback this week. Screw that! Let’s look at the positives. He is a fan of pro wrestling. As a kid, he watched WWF, the NWA, and so many more, because he loves professional wrestling. For nine years, he had this torn away from him. When he got it back and thought about the end of his career, he realized AEW was where he needed to be.

He looked at the roster and he will put it up against any other roster he has been in. He could face Will Ospreay, Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, and so many more. And they are all first-time matches. He has had a phenomenal career, but this is the most fun he has had. He celebrates AEW. Adam thanks the guys who started this company. Omega. Young Bucks. Cody Rhodes. Tony Khan. We love this!

AEW has pushed this industry in to a better place. It gives more people a chance to do what they love for a living. AEW makes pro wrestling better and more fun. AEW is where the best wrestle. It is time to move forward. There is a reason he, Mercedes, Okada, and Ospreay came here. He introduces Will Ospreay.

#1. Will Ospreay vs. Powerhouse Hobbs (w/ Don Callis) – Winner: Will Ospreay

Hobbs isn’t happy with the loss, but Don Callis calms him down. Bryan Danielson enters as Ospreay is heading to the back. Will dares him to top that performance.

#2. Bryan Danielson vs. Lance Archer – Winner: Bryan Danielson

Chris Jericho wants to clarify something with Hook. He talks about how he ends up fighting those he teams with, but he doesn’t want that this time. Hook says he will keep an eye on him.

#3. “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn vs. Jay White – Winner: Daddy Ass by DQ

The Gunns got involved after attacking The Acclaimed backstage. Bowens & Caster rush out to the ring and The Acclaimed brutally take out the Bang Bang Gang.

Willow Nightingale talks about how career and whether she deserves to be in wrestling. Every time she wonders, the fans reassure her. This applause has watered her, and made her blossom in to the woman she is today. The fans have made her so confident that she is going to beat Julia Hart and become the smiling face of TBS. Stokely Hathaway says Willow had a banger last week, and she is something special. She continues to impress him and the world. Mercedes Mone interrupts with her entrance. She can’t wait to see Willow tear it up at Dynasty. Whoever is TBS Champion for Double Or Nothing, she wants next.

#4. [AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Semi Final] The Young Bucks vs. Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta (w/ Chuck Taylor & Sue) – Winners: Young Bucks

After the match, the Best Friends go to hug it out, but Trent Beretta dropkicks Orange Cassidy in the face! Chuck Taylor doesn’t know what to think, and Sue looks shocked. An angry Trent walks to the back on his own.

#5. [AEW Women’s World Championship #1 Contender] Mariah May (w/ Toni Storm) vs. Thunder Rosa – Winner: Thunder Rosa

Penta El Zero Miedo challenges Adam Copeland for the TNT Championship next week.

The show closes with a contract signing for the AEW World Championship match at Dynasty between challenger Swerve Strickland and champion Samoa Joe. Before he signs the contract, Joe feels compelled to give Strickland some advice. How else could this fairy tale end? Signing this contract is doom and destruction. It is a career defining mistake. Joe will beat him down so severely it will look like he left a party too late. Do the right thing.

Swerve Strickland says he has waited for this moment all of his life. He has been through many roadblocks, but his journey has taken him here. They are building a dynasty here in AEW. This championship is bigger than both of ‘em. Joe is the definition of a killer, but so is he. At Dynasty, he shows Joe he is every bit of that.

Strickland strikes Joe hard and attempts to choke him with the chain, but Joe fires back with a headbutt. The champion grabs the chain, wraps it around his fist and repeatedly punches Swerve until he becomes a bloody mess. Referees stop Samoa Joe before he can do any serious damage. Strickland crawls over to the microphone and laughs. He loves this shit. If that’s all Joe has, he is taking the title. Strickland takes the pen and signs the contract with his own blood. Samoa Joe rushes back to the ring, low blows Swerve, and puts him through the table with the Uranage.
