Friday Night SmackDown Results – October 4, 2019


Here are the results for the first Friday Night Smackdown on FOX.

We open the show with Vince and Stephanie McMahon as they welcome us to Friday Night Smackdown.

Out comes Becky Lynch. Becky talks about SmackDown and how she ascended to the top on this show, and thanks the fans. King Corbin interrupts.

Corbin says he should be starting the show as king. Corbin questions if Becky is still the man, and she dares him to take one step and we’ll find out.

The Rock comes out to a thunderous pop. He daps up Becky and pays no mind to Corbin.

The Rock talks about how he impacted SmackDown and says Corbin looks like a broke ass Burger King.

Corbin interrupts The Rock and tells him SmackDown isn’t his home anymore, and he’s no longer the great one.

Corbin is the most electrifying king in sports entertainment and he tells everyone to know their role and shut their mouth. Rock says Corbin looks like a 35 year old virgin at Comic Con.

Becky and Rock makes fun of Corbin’s balls and he says his balls are adequate. Corbin also says the only king of LA is him, and not LeBron James.

Becky steals Rocky’s catchphrase and they both call him an STD and Becky says that will stick with him for life.

Eventually, Becky and Rock jump Corbin, and The Rock gets The People’s Elbow and the Rock Bottom. Becky and Rock stand tall.

Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair vs. Sasha Banks and Bayley

Charlotte begins by working over Bayley before Bayley gets a hair drag and tags in Sasha. Sasha gets a double knees before Charlotte gets a huge chop.

Charlotte sends Sasha out of the ring, but Bayley sends Charlotte flying out of the ring and Sasha follows up with a kick.

Back from commercial, Charlotte escapes from Bayley and makes the hot tag to Becky. She runs wild on both Sasha and Bayley.

Becky gets a top rope leg drop to a Bayley and that gets 2. Bayley attempts a roll-up from behind which gets 2. Bayley launches Becky into the ropes, but Charlotte tags herself in.

Charlotte hits Natural Selection on Bayley but Sasha breaks things up. Eventually, Sasha and Becky get into it as well as Bayley and Charlotte.

Eventually, Charlotte gets a fallaway suplex on Bayley and Becky gets a top rope missile dropkick. Charlotte gets a moonsault on both Sasha and Bayley.

Back in the ring, Charlotte gets the Figure 8 on Bayley and gets her to tap.

Winners: Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch

Backstage, The New Day is interviewed and Kofi is asked about the challenge of facing Brock Lesnar. He says that being an underdog is all he’s known and that’s what he does. Tonight will be no different.

Big E and Xavier is asked if they will accompany Kofi at ringside. Xavier says Kofi asked them to allow him to climb the mountain on his own so he can validate himself as champion.

Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Before the match, we get Firefly Fun House. There’s a cage, and the bunny with a Rollins shirt gets torn apart. Bray foreshadows that Seth will get torn apart and The Fiend never forgets.

The match starts and Shinsuke gets a quick armbar before he sends Shinsuke out of the ring with a series of suicide dives. Back in the ring he gets an enziguri and a springboard knee.

Rollins gets a side kick and goes for the Curb Stomp but The Fiend is here. Rollins escapes to the top of the stage, but The Fiend gets him from behind and throws him off the stage.

Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon – Loser Leaves WWE Ladder Match

As Shane is making his entrance, Owens runs up the ramp and brawls with Shane. He sends him into the steel steps and into a ladder. Owens attempts to climb but Shane cuts him off with a Russian Leg Sweep.

Owens fights back and attempts a Stunner, but Shane blocks only to run into a clothesline.

Kevin gets a ladder, but Shane baseball slides it in his face and slams a ladder on Owens’ back. He cleans the announcer’s table and hits Owens with the hood of the announcer’s table with Owens lying flat.

Shane then gets an elbow to Owens from the top turnbuckle, sending both men through the announcer’s table.

Back from commercial, we see Kevin Owens hitting a frog splash on Shane through a ladder. Both men are in agony.

Owens climbs the ladder, but Shane cuts him off with a series of chair shots. Eventually, he seats Owens in the corner and places a ladder in front of him. Coast to Coast connects.

Shane climbs the ladder, but Owens cuts him off and powerbombs him onto a ladder. Owens climbs the ladder and he grabs hold of the briefcase.

Winner: Kevin Owens

After the match, Owens tells Shane he’s fired and plants him with a Stunner.

Backstage, Paul Heyman says he doesn’t care what anyone says and to show the relevant footage. We get a recap of Brock’s attack on Rey Mysterio.

Heyman says that it’s not a prediction, but a spoiler that Kofi’s WWE Title reign will end.

AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler vs. Braun Strowman, The Miz and Heavy Machinery

Dolph starts early with a Zig Zag and goes for a super kick, but Miz fights back with a DDT. Tag made to Strowman and he cleans house on everyone.

Strowman gets a clubbing blow to Dolph. Robert saves the pin but Miz gets a Skull Crushing Finale from behind.

Orton gets an RKO on Miz, Otis gets a running tackle on Orton, Styles gets a forearm on Otis and Tucker sends Styles out of the ring.

Back in the ring, Strowman gets a running tackle on everyone before Strowman accidentally sends Ziggler into Tyler Fury, and he takes exception. Strowman gets a running powerslam on Ziggler for the win.

Winners: Heavy Machinery, The Miz and Braun Strowman

After the match, Fury gets upset at Strowman for incidentally crashing Ziggler into him and hops the barricade. Security stops him.

Roman Reigns vs. Rowan – Lumberjack Match

The two men brawl and Roman fights off the heel lumberjacks while Rowan fights off the face lumberjacks. Eventually, Rowan sends Roman into the barricade.

Back in the ring, Rowan gets a spinning kick for 2. We go to commercial.

Back from commercial, Roman and Rowan continue to brawl before Roman gets a jumping clothesline and a Samoan Drop for 2.

Roman goes for a Superman Punch but is met with a big boot. Roman gets a Superman Punch on the rebound.

Luke Harper arrives and starts brawling with the lumberjacks and everyone is fighting each other. Bryan gets involved hut Luke fosses him aside. Roman eventually gets a dive into everyone.

Rowan powerbombs Ali into Roman and gets a running tackle in the ring for a very close 2 count. Rowan goes for the Iron Claw but Roman fights him off. Harper clotheslines Roman, but Bryan comes to his aide.

Rowan tosses Bryan aside, but Roman gets a spear for the win.

Winner: Roman Reigns

After the match, Roman and Bryan shake hands.

Kofi Kingston (C) vs. Brock Lesnar – WWE Championship

Kofi goes for something and Lesnar instantly hits an F-5 and, well, that’s it. We have a new WWE Champion.

Winner: Brock Lesnar

After the match, Rey Mysterio is out and he’s with….Cain Velasquez! Cain takes down Lesnar with some hard fights before Lesnar retreats out of the ring.

Lesnar and Heyman walk back down the ramp only to retreat once again.
